The Project

Tadman Planning Consultants were instructed by Gloucester Elim Church to assist with a revised planning application for internal and external works to the existing church building.

The site already benefitted from planning permission for a significantly larger scheme, including a substantial extension alongside alterations to the existing building. However, the Church wished to progress with the improvement works to the existing building in the short term, with the extension to be delivered at a later stage.

Following a detailed review of the extant permission, its conditions as well as permitted development rights, it was advised that the most appropriate approach would be to submit a revised application for the reduced scope of works. This ensured that the immediate improvements could be implemented without prejudicing the ability to deliver the wider scheme in the future.

Planning permission for the revised works was granted in March 2026.
